Oracle Technical / Functional Lead

Job description:

The Oracle Technical / Functional Lead will support Client*s Oracle Financials and CRM applications through both implementation of new modules or functions, and through on-going maintenance.

The Oracle Lead is a crucial member of the applications team and will participate in all phases of implementation projects including: gathering functional requirements; developing functional and technical designs; development; documentation; and testing.

The Oracle Technical / Functional Lead will be a key member of a small, dynamic team and will work with all modules within the Oracle application.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Functional design & requirements gathering: Gather and document user requirements and provide functional designs to meet those requirements.
  • Solution/Technical design: Translate functional requirements into technical designs when addressing specific functional requirements within the Oracle system.
  • Development: Develop Oracle applications, either through actual coding or through coordination with Oracle engineers (developers). Candidate will apply Oracle development tools such as PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Workflow Builder, and the OA Framework.
  • Documentation: Document functional requirements, functional designs, and all technical designs according to Client*s IT*s documentation standards.
  • Testing: Complete unit testing of work as well as integration testing with other custom components and the larger Oracle application.
  • Application Setups: Provide the setups in the Oracle application necessary to deploy and maintain both custom and standard application components.
  • Code and Version Management: Participate in and adhere to Client*s code management process, including use of source-code control utilities and facilitation of migration of code across multiple Oracle instances.

Qualifications Requirements:

  • 5+ years of application functional and/or technical experience with the Oracle Financials environment.
  • Strong functional understanding of finance processes is required.  Must have strong functional knowledge of Oracle Applications, specifically within the quote-to-fulfillment.
  • Functional knowledge and experience with the two or more of the following Oracle Modules is required: Accounts Receivables, Credit Management, Advaced Collections, Trade Management, Advance Pricing, Customer Data Hub.
  • Functional knowledge and experience with the following Oracle Modules is beneficial: Accounts Payables, General Ledger, Inventory, Product Information Master, Order Management.
  • Experience with the following Oracle development tools and technologies is required: SQL development tools such as SQL Navigator or Toad, Oracle Workflow Builder, Oracle Reports, and Oracle Forms.
  • Familiarity with Oracle best practices for development in these technologies is required.
  • Must have good experience in PL/SQL and SQL tuning.
  • Familiarity with Customer, Product schemas.
  • Experience with JDeveloper, BPEL and building reports using XML Publisher is a huge plus.  Must be experienced in applying Oracle best practices for these same technologies.
  • Must also be able to deploy components in the Oracle Applications environment through concurrent requests, lookups, value sets, and other common Oracle components.
  • Must be able to translate functional requirements and designs into technical designs within the Oracle Applications environment.
